Tiffany Cvrkel is a philosopher and bioethicist working in the Molecular, Cell, & Developmental Biology Department at UCLA. Her work focuses on categorizing the impact and limitations of deliberation as it occurs in biomedical ethical contexts. She works both on mapping deliberative circumstance that make genuine and adequately informed consent problematic and on crafting practical circumstantial adjustments to help address these challenges.
You can find her blogging at Philosophical Percolations, along with a group of outstanding co-bloggers.

And in case you’re curious:
The last name Cvrkel is a bit of an adventure for English speakers. Here’s a brief tutorial on pronunciation. Cvrkel is pronounced like “sver-kell,” where the “sv” sound at the beginning sounds like the “sv” in names like “Sven.” The “v” is not silent. Feel free to put the emphasis on either the first syllable or the second – the family can’t agree among themselves on this one.
